We know health and fitness centres well, and also a range of other alternatives including e.g. the basement gym. Most of the places we have visited have left us feeling we would love to change them: change for the better. Sometimes we see basic operational errors, and sometimes a listless design or a lack of atmosphere.

Designing a good fitness centre means looking at it as a complete whole, comprising everything from details in the reception area right through to the rooms’ activity schedules hung on the walls. Learn to look at everything like a client, owner, receptionist, coach, cleaner and manager, all in one person. Talk to the staff, and forget that you know best. This is the only way you will gain an overview of the context. Design can only start once all the basic things work. We have gained most experience in designing fitness centres over several years of cooperation with Holmes Place clubs.This was the client with the highest demands, and yet equally a tireless innovator in the field of health, fitness and the therapeutic spa, not only in the Czech Republic. This collaboration helped us progress to designing in context. Flawless operations, functional, flexible solutions, maximum utilization of potential of all areas, budget control, lifestyle design and knowledge of current as well as proven training methods. We love all of it. For several years now, a cellar with body-building dumbbells has ceased to be the typical gym. Even so, some current, atmospheric trends successfully evoke the golden age of strength and body-building, as retro is top fashion today. Trends change, but one rule remains. The right design will always affect sales by up to 30% in your favour.
